Ethics in abbott laboratories?

Say I am Abbott and I have 1 dose of a miracle cure - and 2 patients. One will give me a million dollars, and the other is indigent. Who do I give it to?

Well, if I give it to the millionaire, I now have a million dollars that I can help others, but the indigent dies. If I give it to the indigent, he lives, the millionaire dies, and there is no residual value.

That's how pharmaceutical companies work - they sell as high as they can to make profit, which helps subsidize their R&D, and their giving of drugs to third world countries at cost or below.

You can't avoid the law of supply and demand - and you can't give your product away forever or you will go out of business.
