Convicted felon w/drug charge. FASFA no help. Really wanna go back to college. How can i find aid?

Private Loan would be the only way to go. With a drug conviction you cant get govt anything. Also try www.fastweb.com it is a listing of scholarships you apply for a user id and it gives you a listing of what you may be able to get. for the private loan got to www.salliemae.com
Really they should change that rule. Honestly a stupid mistake 4 years ago could keep you from ever getting a better life. If you paid for your mistakes (jail time, probation, fines, drug counselling) then why keep punishing a person. But we are only small bugs in the govt's eyes

Why can't you do the community college thing?

You are still eligible for scholarships. You can find a book with college scholarships at your local library. If you don't already have a job, you should get one. A community college is the cheapest place to start.

You should fill out the FAFSA because some of the need based scholarships will require it.

there are also grants available to convicted felons also. The best route would be to set up an appointment with a admissions rep at the college that you would like to attend and they can give you all the info you need to begin your search. Good Luck!
