Was the drug smear on Obama a case of misspeaking by a rogue aid, or a planned hit with plausible deniability?

It appears that this campaign is peeling Hillary like an onion...The more layers that get peeled...the more it stinks.

I think 95% of the time something the Hillary campaign does is a calculated political thing. Probably the same for most of them.

In these campaigns millions of dollars are at stake, this was just a tactic to get the story in the media and get the vipers circulating over it.

Both parties are guilty of tactics like this, but perhaps no political machine is as slick, dirty and calculating as the Clinton machine.

I think the fact that you are smart enough to be familiar with the term "plausible deniability" means your smart enough to know the answer already.

If it had been planned I doubt they would have used such a high-ranking campaign official as a sacraficial goat. I think it was the national co-chairman who just resigned over it.

Yeah, he's not going to be in office much longer. You are the reason why politicians are the way they are. You have decided against brain cells or logic and have opted towards emotional response, and that's exactly why we have all the dirty underhanded word games and manipulations going on. The politicians prey on people like you to get rich and famous.

I can't wait till Bush is out of office. It will be nice to see people have to think and be held accountable again. Right now, everyone just blames everything on him and feel free to do and say whatever they feel like.

This was very planned. This is the same tactics employed by the Clinton's during the Kenneth Starr days too. The Clintons have an aid (like those nameless ensigns in Star Trek) comment something to inject it into the public conscious. Then they fire the person in order to appear as though they did not condone the comment and to appear to take the higher road. All the while, the preverbial cat is out of the bag and the damage is done. Then the martyred assistant finds an amazing job with a Clinton Campaign contributor. WOW! How very forturnate for that misspoke rep!
Problem here is this was a tactic HEAVILY used to protect Bill during his Presidency, and now seeing it happen to Hillary, creates the impression that the Clintons hire hot-mouthed idiots and lack the prowess to control their aides...or that the wisest amoung us can see through the B.S. smoke screen, and that this is nothing more than old tricks! Come on...ANOTHER rogue aid?!
