Should criminals suffering from AIDs benefit from ARV drugs?

Yes they should, even though there criminals they are still humans first. The did wrong things that don't mean we have to do wrongs things to or else we will all be criminals in some kinda of way even if we already are.

Of course they should, what kind of question is this. There is a protection against cruel and unusual punishment in our constitution and letting someone die just because they're in jail is cruel and unusual.

HELL NO!!!!! Criminals with AIDS should not be treated for their disease BECAUSE THEY'RE CRIMINALS! They should be left to rot and die just like every other criminal!

You need to either accept that sick people deserve medicine, or you need consensus on where to draw lines, which you are not going to get.

How about a teenage boy born HIV positive (because his now-dead parents were drug-abusers) who steals a car to joy-ride. Of course he should go to jail, he's a thief, but is a death-sentence appropriate for a car thief?

Yes. If a man about to get killed can sue for hurting him with the poison needle, imagine what an AIDS patient in jail could do for being denied ARV drugs that WILL keep them alive.

NO worries though, most people get HIV in jail and testing is voluntary so most don't know they have the disease until they give it to their wives or girlfriends.

If it's a full blown AIDS, I think we better allocate the drugs to someone who has bigger probability to survive.
