Should AIDS drugs be made available and inexpensive to developing?

What I meant to ask was...Should AIDS drugs be made available and inexpensive to developing NATIONS?

They should be FREE! People are dying, for God's sake!

No. Drugs treat the symptoms, not the cause. The cause is a dysfunctional society combined with dictatorships that isolate themselves from the people.

Cheep drugs will not land in the hands of those that need it. Subsidized hospitals will not solve anything. The WHO has tried this approach over and over and over again, and met with little or no success. The solution is simple, but hard.

Epidemics need to die out. Those that survive are stronger for it, and will see the devastation caused by their failed societies and governments. Then they will enact positive change, and turn Africa back into the cradle of civilization it should be.

Our constant subsidies feed the man and they do not teach him to fish. Improve the economic station of women in Africa, and women will have greater control over their own sexuality. Improve the culture of manhood through education and spirituality and you will have men act more responsible. Africa never had an Enlightenment or a Renaissance, and they need time to catch up with the rest of the world.

Not only should AIDS drugs be free in developing countries, but they should be accompanied with food. The Arv's are simply too hard on a body to take without food supplements. It is ridiculous to allow millions of people to die just because of intellectual property rights, or "not treating the cause" or whatever other reason people might give.
If people in developing nations have the right to free ARVs with food, then at least a few of AIDS victims can live longer, continue working and helping the economy, and caring for their children. Of course, counseling and education and condoms will also be necessary so that they don't spread the virus to other people.
A lot needs to be done to help solve the AIDS problem in developing countries, but free medication is definitely part of the solution.
