I never knew canker sores were from Satan?

This is horrible. I started getting a canker sore 5 days ago. Then I had one and I thought it sucked. Now I've have at LEAST 8 or 9 on my upper and lower lip. What the HELL!!!

Is this supposed to happen? Is it because its my first time getting canker sores? I mean, as soon as I rip an old one off a new one starts right next door. I am treating them with salt, salt water, and Listerine daily. I never touch them except when cleaning them. But nothing seems to help. My lips are so dry and crispy. I apply chapstick throughout the day just so my lips don't start bleeding if i smile. This is torture. I feel so unclean when i talk to people I put my hand in front of my mouth. I mean, I know I wouldnt want to look at multiple white sores on someones lips if they were talking to me.

Is there anything I can do here besides stay inside all day and medicate? I went to the store (Rite Aid and Longs Drugs) and the pharmacists there said there is no med's for canker sores.

dont rip them off. thats what's allowing them to spread. you are allowing the virus or bacteria (sorry i cant remember which one causes canker sores) to spread by ripping the sore and allowing whats beneath your skin to flow out, so that it can infect other parts of your skin. just buy some abriva, and put it on and then dont touch them. also when your all better, throw away your chap stick.

Although there is no medical cure for canker sores, there are remedies that can hasten the healing and help you manage the pain more effectively. Try seeking dental help to secure the proper treatment. Also, avoid anything acidic or hard foods that can further irritate canker sores. Maintain your oral hygiene as well.

There isn't a med that will TREAT them, but try to find Hurricaine Topical Anesthetic Gel -- it numbs the area and will make them feel so much better. I used to get really bad canker sores, and that would help so much. If you can't find that, try Orajel. I'm surprised the pharmacist didn't recommend them. Also, try applying Alum (from the spice section of the grocery store). Listerine might irritate more than help, so I'd discontinue that (canker sores aren't caused by infection, so an antiseptic isn't really what you're looking for). Tea contains tannic acid, which helps to speed healing, so you can try placing a wet tea bag on the sores. Taking L-lysine might also help. I hope you start feeling better soon!
