What is the first aid for snake bite? any herbal or allopathic drugs? I am from Chennai, Tamilnadu, India?

Well,the first aid for snake bite would be:

Remove any jewelry or tight fitting clothing. Quickly tie a light restricting band both above and below the bite area a few inches away from the puncture/bite marks.

Wash the bite with soap and water.

Immobilize the bitten area and keep it lower than the heart.

Cover the area with a clean, cool compress or a moist dressing to minimize swelling and discomfort.

Monitor vital signs.

Most often, physicians use antivenin -- an antidote to snake venom -- to treat serious snake bites. Antivenin is derived from antibodies created in a horse's blood serum when the animal is injected with snake venom. Because antivenin is obtained from horses, snake bite victims sensitive to horse products must be carefully managed

2. Wash the bite area
3. Tie the area a little above the bite; not too tightly
4. Rush to nearest hospital or medical centre at the earliest

Chennai has the India's one and only snake park. There they do significant snake and its venom related research. You can always take their help.

tightly bandage off the limb above the bite, as this will help slow the spread of the poison. it's important that the casualty doesnt move much as this will also spread the poison.

wash the wound and call for a doctor.

with severe injuries shock can sometimes occur, if so keep the casulaty warm, and do not give them anything to eat or drink, lay them down with their legs raised (however if the bite is on a leg, this wouldnt be advisable)

casualty may be confused
cyanosis - blue lips
pale
cold clammy sweat
thirsty
