My 15 year old troubled nephew is not obeying the rules at home.....drugs etc. staying out....infact his frie

He is staying at a friends house when my sister has told them that he is not allowed in there house anymore. What are her legal rights. They are makeing the situation worse by giving him somewhere to run to all the time. He isnt going to school, useing drugs, drinking. The police say there is nothing they can do about the house he runs to, and childrens aid is only concerned that he goes to school. Can,t she press charges against them for contributeing to his delinquincy or interference. Please we need to do something...he needs help and discipline....there makeing things worse.

An unmanagable child is a difficult situation. Many of the courts decisions have basically tied the hands of parents but still want to hold them accountable for the childs actions. The Children's Services are usually over-burdened with cases and tend not to get involved until criminal actions are documented and pressed by authorities. It can be frustrating for a parent!! I would recommend that your sister locate an attorney who deals with juvenile issues and speak to them about her abilities and options. This will also protect her from accidently crossing the line and doing something "illegal". That can often be a thin line for parents trying to discipline children these days.

Your sisyer threw him out of the house. She is the one responsible for contributing to the delinquincy of a minor.

She needs to file "unmanagable child" charges with the juvenile court.
