Questions on the news story of the hit and rundriver who left this old man to die?

I think people are becoming selfish more and more each day...

Why...because....someone gets hit by a car...what happens next...well..If you been watching CNN or others news...Everyone stands there like what happen?

Perhaps...no one realized he was hit by the car..and thought he fell down..??

Perhaps...the driver was drunk or on drugs and didn't even know he hit someone...

or

Perhaps..Connecticut has the snooty people..who are afraid to get their hands dirty...Life and death?? I think people would of come to the aid if it was a dog or child??

One would think??

I guess morals and values....go out the window and embarassed families and parents...of the people captured in the video standing there and doing nothing..to help..shock...maybe?? But, get the license plate?? Or something
???????

Yes people are becoming more selfish, they take the attitude of, it's none of my business, why should I get involved!

It seems that there are quite a few 'hit and run' incidents in Connecticut, take a look at this page.

I wouldn't read so much into this. The crowd watching and doing nothing is unfortunately perfectly normal, it's called the "bystander effect." Basically the more people witness something, the less likely someone is to help, because it's easier to assume "someone else will help." This was discovered after the very sad Kitty Genovese case in 1964:

As for the person who committed the hit and run, people sometimes panic and do stupid things. Still, that is far less excusable, but doesn't reflect on society at large.

And four people called 911 after witnessing the hit and run, so it's not like no one did anything.
