Is it possible to escape from reality and a euphoric feeling without the aid of illegal drugs?

Is it possible to create a euphoric sensation away from reality, where nothing matters and you can virtually touch god himself without the aid of MDMA or other related drugs?

Well... Many controlled/illegal narcotics that create feelings of euphoria (think morphine or heroin) mimic neurotransmitters in the brain called endorphins. Endorphins are created naturally when the body is put under a great deal of stress, such as during strenuous exercise or after a serious injury. This is the reason for "runner's high".

Therefore, yes. You can escape from reality and have euphoric feelings without drugs, but it requires you exercising to the point that you feel like utter crap.

Now if you're talking simply about illegal vs. legal SUBSTANCES.... narcotics such as hydrocodone and morphine cause these feelings but are not prescribed unless you are in a great deal of pain already. You could try the hallucinogen Salvia Divinorum (completely legal), but it's extremely strong and associated more with a complete withdrawal from reality rather than what you seem to be looking for.

Given all of this, I'd suggest you just have a couple of beers :) They're legal, easy to obtain, and you don't have to run 10 miles to get a good feeling.

Yes, adrenaline causes this to happen. Anything that increases adrenaline in your blood stream even just working out will give you a euphoric feeling and give you an escape for awhile.

i know a way to escape reality. happens every night. it's called dreaming :D and it happens at day time too, day dreaming :D

Alcohol it is the same that illegal drugs just legal cause the goverment gets money from it.
