Has obama been a success?..what do you think?

im going to ask this question again:

i am a little tired of opinions on YA. there are so many people spouting off with no information. all i hear is opinions about bush. i did not vote for obama but when he became our president, i was hopeful he would be successful in turning things around. he had my support until recently. i have facts listed and i welcome any intelligent refutation. no opinions- facts only to support your argument:

President Bush expanded the federal budget by a historic $700 billion through 2008. President Obama would add another $1 trillion.
President Bush began a string of expensive finan颅cial bailouts. President Obama has accelerated that course.
President Bush created a Medicare drug entitle颅ment that will cost an estimated $800 billion in its first decade. President Obama has proposed a $634 billion down payment on a new govern颅ment health care fund.
President Bush increased federal education spending 58 percent faster than inflation. Presi颅dent Obama would double it.
President Bush became the first President to spend 3 percent of GDP on federal antipoverty programs. President Obama has already in颅creased this spending by 20 percent.
President Bush tilted the income tax burden more toward upper-income taxpayers. President Obama would continue that trend.
President Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt through 2008. Setting aside 2009 (for which Presidents Bush and Obama share responsibility for an additional $2.6 trillion in public debt), President Obama鈥檚 budget would add $4.9 trillion in public debt from the beginning of 2010 through 2016.
Obama said he would pull troops out of iraq. He has more than doubled the amount of our men and women overseas and is threatening pakistan. With the continuation of the missle defense sys along the Russian border (he plans to expand east into other countries) iit is likely we will be sending more troops overseas.
Obama said he would close gitmo. It has not closed and he has signed to continue rendition.
Obama said he would allow congress 5 days to read legislation before the vote. He gave congress one hour to read the bailouts. Not one of them knew what it contained and neither did our president. Is this accountability? Some democratic members of congress were threatened into signing when they were opposed.
Obama said he would do away with the patriot act. He quietly signed to further it.
Obama slammed Bush for his irresponsible war-time spending and acceleration of the national debt. He has just asked for 85 billion to keep the war going in iraq and additional funds for afg. He sent 90 billion to Palestine to aid the war torn country while we continue to send aid to Isreal. We are now supporting both sides of the war while americans are suffering at home. Further, he spent 20 billion to fly and house Palestinians here in the USA. There are many here in the US that have lost their homes and are out of work. 11 billion in bailout money has disappeared. He cannot account for it.

im tired of typing..now i would like to know how obama supporters (and i dont mind that you support him, i only mind that you cannot see the facts) believe he is doing a great job? Also, I am not republican nor liberal. I vote on the issues like any intelligent person should. no camp will get it right all the time.

it is clear there are many who still believe bush is the cause of this. he did double the national debt. it took him 2 terms, 911, and a war to do it. it is obvious you do not understand how the economy works. the real estate crisis was caused by bill clinton:
he pressured fannie mae to lower lending standards (he used the community reinvestment act of 77) which caused the conflict of interest between lenders and brokers. this allowed families that could not afford homes to still be approved for the loan. the bubble burst under bush's watch. it was only a matter of time. our country has been in debt since 86. look it up. EVERY president has added to that debt with the exception of clinton-as his policy was short sighted

As of right now, Gitmo operations have been suspended, looks like Obama's going in the direction that he said he would.

Obama never signed off on the Patriot Act during his presidency, the last time it was reauthorized was in 2006.

It took eight years to get us into this mess, and its going to take a while and lots of money to get us out. Give it some time to work and you will answer your own question. At least the present President includes all spending in his budget!

He has been a complete failure to this point, with the exception of approving the order to allow the Navy Seals to rescue the captain from the pirates.

And government spending is not neccessarily a bad thing. Sorry you've drank the repig kool-aid.

Too soon to tell. It's amazing how we went from no expectations with Bush to expecting miracles from Obama.

Too early to tell if he's a success, but I think he's doing a lot of things right so far.

He has been a success at ensuring that your kids will be paying most of their earnings in taxes. The man is a menace!

No, he has not, and I do not believe he will be. He suffers from the exact same malady as his predecessor did, complete control by people outside of our government. Obama is going to expand the Afghan war, in direct contradiction to his speeches during the Primaries. But, why would anyone be surprised ? No one in DC ever does what they say.....

If they didn't have Bush to blame for everything, that would only leave Obama left. Since Obama is a clown they will always have to say but but Bush etc. It will be like that for another 3 and a half years.
