Poor and Pregnant?

Is there some sort of financial aid available for young, single to-be mothers in Utah? How can you find more information, numbers... ?

Typically in every state there are programs through your department of Human Services/Department of Social Services. Look up the number in a phone book for the address. Most times you have to apply in person. They will usually help out until the baby is 2 years old and then they will have you go back to work as soon as possible. Some programs will even help you out until the baby is 18, but I personally wanted to go back to work as soon as I could. I raised my girls with the state's help as we are lower income and couldn't afford medical to cover either child. My current hubby is a wonderful man and even though he's not my children's father, he supported them as if he was. Good luck to you and I hope you have a fantastic pregnancy and enjoy the child with all your might.

Find the number for your local Department of Human Services. There are all kinds of programs available from financial assistance to medical care and everything in between.

Good luck!!

Google Hunter's Chosen Child...they offer assistance to pregnant mothers. Other than that...I can only think of medicaid, food stamps and WIC.
Churches might offer financial assistance...you don't always have to be pregnant though.

Poor thing!

Well i dont know anything that can help you but i promise you that i will pray for you.

God bless you

Firstly, the father MUST pay child support, he has an obligation over the child as well.

Secondly, you can go on welfare benefits, unfortunately im not in the states so i can't give you any more info on that, so just wait it out till one of the moms comes on.

i would contact your local health department they should have some resources and also try to do a search on pregnancy crisis centers in your neighborhood they usually can be a big help with referals and other things you may need such as maternity clothing and items for your baby.... congrats and good luck

You should qualify for WIC and probably emergency medicaid, if you don't have health insurance. Call the Department of Human Services or Social Services in your city and ask if they can give you the info for services you might qualify for.
