Can someone explain this to me? Veterans.?

What does the following mean please answer.
The Department of Veterans Affairs did not confirm that you are or will be a
qualifying veteran for purposes of receiving federal student aid for the
2007-2008 school year. If you believe you are or will be a qualifying veteran,
contact your financial aid office and provide a copy of your DD214 (military
separation form). If you are currently serving on active duty in the U.S.
Armed Forces for purposes other than training, change your answer to Item 55
from "Yes" to "No" and answer "Yes" to Item 54. If you are not and will not be
a veteran, you must change the answer to Item 55 from "Yes" to "No" and provide
parental information, including the signature of at least one of your parents.
Select the 'Make Corrections' button at the bottom of the page to make the
correction.

I currently in the national guard does that mean im a veteran?

Doesn't look difficult to me. Just follow the directions which are very straight forward and simple to follow. If you have been discharged go to your financial aid office with your DD214 and the financial aid office can determine if you are qualified as veteran for student aid. If you are still on active duty then make the changes to the blocks they have indicated and get the required information and signature from a parent if you are not a veteran or active duty member. I presume that you submitted you application on line and that it got bounced for more information..

What that means is the the VA needs more information and a copy of your DD214 which is your separation papers. If you are currently on active duty you need to change your answer to question #55 from Yes to No and then also answer #54 Yes.
If you are not now and will not be a veteran you must change your answer to Item #55 from yes to no and provide information they need of your parents AND you must include the signature of at least one of your parents. Then at the bottom of the page select the Make Correction Button and there you go.

Take this one step at a time and it will be easier.

You are not considered a qualifying veteran for VA educational assistance if you have not served at least 90 days on active duty in support of OIF or OEF, unless you left early due to an injury.

You will have a DD214 stating something akin to "individual completed period for which ordered to active duty for purpose of post service benefits and entitlements."

DD form 214 is your discharge paperwork proving your were indeed in the military. The rest is for your parents to hack off on

Reserve and National Guard fall under different rules sometimes. they (Government change them so fast it's hard to keep up) Go to your JAG office and have them look into it. They can also help you in the plain English department so you can understand the legal wording on the form.

Well... if you're considered active duty... then the answer is written clearly there... It goes like this..

If Reserves are not considered "active duty" then you probably don't qualify for their purposes...
