EFC Number. What the heck does mine mean?

Based on the information we have on record for you, your EFC is 0. You may be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant and other federal student aid. Your school will use your EFC to determine your financial aid eligibility for federal grants, loans, and work study, and possible funding from your state and school.

So, does this mean I'll more then likely get financial aid or not? I need help with all this stuff! Thanks!

An EFC of 0 means you might qualify for the maximum Pell grant amount. If you attend full time in the spring semester you would likely qualify for $2155.00 to help with the cost of tuition, books, fees, etc. as well as Work Study and Federal Student loans.

If your EFC is (0), that means you probably don't have any income, from what was reported on your FAFSA. That means you're eligible for the maximum amount of Federal grants & loans.

efc is expected family contribution. that means your family doesn't have to pay anything, which means you will be more likely to get financial aid.

expected family contribution. They use that number and minus it from your finical aide. It is what your family in this case you are supposed to put in to your own education. In your case you are so low income you are not expected to put anything in . If you do your fasfa early every year and have it in to your school you will get the full amount of grants and loans offered to you. You can still pick which and how much of each you want.

Your Expected Family Contribution (or EFC ) is the amount of money you and your family are expected to contribute toward the cost of your college education. The EFC is calculated based on your family鈥檚 income, your status as a student, size of your family, the State you live in, the number of family members in college, and other information. The EFC is the minimum amount of money you should expect to pay from cash savings or loans to attend a college or university.

Your EFC is 0, so you aren't expected to use any of your family's money to pay for college.
