Military School for my unruly boy?

We tried consuling for a yr, we have punish him over & over, positive & negative reinforcement and boot camp but no success. I know I have failed and we really feel it's time for boot camp. I need information about a good one in Texas if possible and financial aid.

Yup put him in military school and slap some discipline on his butt. don't know any in Texas but I'm sure they're there. I took a year of military school and it taught me to be neat, polite, honorable and self sufficient. I'd recommend it to anyone with a kid witha behaviour problem. ( By the way I wasn't a bad kid but my grades kept slipping. )

Do you want military school or boot camp? Boot camp is for punishment, military school is usually used as a way to have parents in the armed forces school their kids who want to follow in those footsteps, but kids do also go their because they choose too. Boot camp is probobly what you would want to use for your son if he is getting in trouble compulsivly. Use Google and search Boot Camps in the Texas area, you can also you things like CampSearch engines because some of them you can pick if you want a boot camp as an option.

Have you tried family counseling for Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Conduct Disorder, or either disorder with a comorbid disorder? Children are not born with behavioral problems, behavioral problems are born in the environment. This is usually due to ineffective parenting techniques, lack of stable and fair consequences (this is different from punishment), and problems controlling stress and anger. I deal with parents like you everyday and let me just give you one warning. Your son will absolutely feel as though you have abandoned him, given up on him and betrayed him. I also deal with children and teens like that everyday and the loneliness and hurt that is evident in their every facial expression, statement and action is heartbreaking. In my experience, boot camps usually cause the child to be more hostile and aggressive and almost never help the situation. Have you looked into getting involved with a social service agency, like Value Options or New Horizons? They could help you place your son in a therapeutic group home or treatment center where the underlying issues could be addressed, rather than pushing him into submission (they will usually pay for it as well). I'm really sad for your child now...
