Is there any point in an 'ipod shuffle'?

I ask this for other peoples opinions.
Personally, i think that it is a worthless piece of junk.

Firstly, its a waste of money.
It has got as many features as its leading competitor yet it is priced the same.
Nearly all mp3 players out there, price more or less, lets you shuffle your music anyway, so the main feature of this unit is???
Its gimmicky.
Its a piece of plastic with buttons, doesnt really reak of innovation or information for that matter.

Bassically its sales are aided with it having the ipod name as its title.

So what is the point in a ipod shuffle?

Larry, the shuffles leading competitor has a lcd screen and has longer battery life, so what you said holds no weight.

The point is to have a media player made of excellent quality that does not take up space and battery life on an lcd screen if you do not need one. If they are the same price as similar models then why not get the style that comes attached with it? I don't know the price of them today but my 30 dollar media device has lasted me a couple years strong.

a shuffle is just the apple way of saying "we want your cash"

idk. to me there are other mp3s that are small, compatible, and has the stuff and tht are cheaper and work as good.

not unless you want to waste your money. It can hold only like 200 songs most. The original 1 could hold 5,000 songs, but no videos
