I want to go back to school. But my parents stole my college money.?

I haven't seenor heard from them in 5 years. In addition to that they opened up two credit cards in my name. I can't get loans or my parents information. Where can I go to get financial aid?

Sue them.

You have to file a lawsuit of forged idenification and also sue you're credit card company of accepting phony forged name from you. You have to talk to the police and clear you're name you have a right to.
Time is ticking. The more you wait the more you are in trouble. Call the police now. Gov't finanical Aid from the goverment or from the school may be adiquite. As soon you clear youre name from debit, and forged phony name. Police CALL NOW.

You might contact the police regarding fraud, first. Maybe they can help find your parents & make them pay you restitution, or something...

Otherwise, FAFSA is a federal government program of financial aid, and many colleges have Work-Study programs and the like. There are also a variety of scholarships available, which you can Google to find out about.

You should report this problem to the police station. Maybe you should see for you nearest relatives to seek for help.

Sweetie, you got bigger problems than financial aid. You need to go to the police and file identity theft charges against your parents.

Now the college money they "stole" is only stolen if you earned it, you saved it and they raided your bank account. If its money they earned and put aside, its not your $$. A college education is not a right, its a privilege - but clear up the identity theft first because you won't get squat if your credit is bad.

Get a Pell Grant like I did and make up the difference with a government student loan.

If they stole your money from your account, then that's theft. If they were intending to give you money but did not follow through, then that money is technically theirs.

You should get a lawyer and talk to them about your credit card theft. Contacting the police is a good first step.

Hate to say this, but... I WOULD SUE THEM FOR EVERYTHING THEY HAVE!!! That is something called... IDENTITY THEFT!!!

You need to call a courthouse and prepare for a battle. You will even be able to make them pay for your court costs, because they brought this on themselves.

You really need to sue them. I hate to say it, because they are your parents. But think about it. They are RUINING your life!

Contact court houses, lawyers, etc. Prepare for a fight. But you'll most likely win, because they have records of this stuff.

This really bothers me, a lot. Why would your parents do that?

There are program for people who wants to advance their higher education,try to seek advice from school councilor,they where the one who will guide you w/ school grant wherein you won't pay back money,regarding credit card issues you can always file a complaint/case against anybody who will use your identity w/out your consent.If you are serious regarding pursuing your education there are alot of avenues for you to take.Good luck and I will pray for your success.

On a lighter note, I think this would make for a terrific college application essay!
