NJ Legal Emancipation for FAFSA: how do I get started?

I am 19 and have moved out of my parent's house and have legally changed my address. My parents do not provide me any support (financial or otherwise), however, I still have to include their information on my FAFSA, preventing me from getting financial aid I need and forcing me to take out over $100,000 in student loans in my name (no co-signer). I want to legally emancipate myself, allowing me to use my own financial information on my FAFSA. Can you provide me any information on how to get started and how this works?

Don't say this isn't possible, I have already researched it and know it can be done.

Contact the Financial Aid office at your college or university, they will be able to set you on the right tract. Sorry, but it has been far closer to 20 years than I care to admit since I had to find out, and it is possible that methods have changed since then. So it is best for you to find out straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

You're already a legal adult. No further emancipation is possible.

Sorry, but FAFSA takes your parents financial situation into account until you turn 21, and you can't get away from that.

The law is written that way to stop people getting aid that they're not entitled to by their parents just saying "We're not willing to help support her".

I know from experience that it is not possible, I was in the same situation when I was 19 and was told that I wouldn't be considered independent until I was 24 and had to include my parents info. There unfortunately is nothing you can do.
