Fafsa.....?

What is the deal with this financial aid crap? If my parents are not paying for my college why do I have to enter all their information and why do I get NO financial aid??? This is stupid

Sorry, thats just how it works. Otherwise everyone would say that their parents aren't paying so that they can get money and then their parents would still help out. The only ways that you don't have to use your parents financial aid is if file independent taxes for 2 years or if you are married/have kids.

i do not no because if your parents arent paying for then why do they need that infor mation about your parents.

Financial aid is used to aid students attend schools who would otherwise not have the money to attend.

The problem with FAFSA is that if you are not legally a ward of the state...you have parents who should pay for you to go to college. That's why their finances come into play.

But if you are at least 23, have a baby or are married ...then the FAFSA only requires your information..and your husbands if you are married.

I hate that FAFSA looks at the outside of the financial situation of parents. Your parents could very well make 100,000 a year..but have debt up to their eyeballs and can't send you to college. It doesn't matter. In the eyes o f the federal government...they should still be responsible for funding their children's' education.

I believe it is unfair to punish the kids and keep them from an education because the parents "make too much". And then the parents have to get more loans to pay for their kids education. But thats the system for you.
