Should I get my belly button pierced before rugby season?

Well my rugby practices start next Tuesday but I had plans to get my belly button pierced this coming Saturday. But now I don't know if it would be okay. Rugby practice will involve lotss of running and just physical activity and physical contact in general and I really wanna guess that would hurt a fresh piercing. And I wouldn't want it to get like torn out during a game. But I was thinking I could just put band-aids over it during practices and games. But I'm not sure.
Anyone have any opinion or information that could help me really decide in a few days?
I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do it either way because it's kind of a birthday present and I really wanted to get it in the Winter so it will maybe be nice and healed by Summer.
Any feedback on ways to try to lessen the pain [that I'm predicting] would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks!

I would not advise getting pierced now. Like you said you're going to be doing a lot of physical activity, not only that, rugby is a contact sport, so you're more than likely to get the piercing hit/knocked about or even ripped out whilst practising, and that on top of the normal day to day activities is not good for any piercing yet alone a navel one. All the things I've just described will cause pain, more than likely cause the piercing to have an infection and will most definitely delay healing. Band aids would not help the situation one bit and you'll more than likely have to take out the piercing. The only way I can suggest to lessen the pain is not to get the piercing at all or choose another location that can be easily protected.

u shouldnt cause if u r goin to do alot of activites then it will hurt u really bad so dont try it as yet

I probably wouldn't. Belly rings get caught on enough stuff as is, that it doesn't need to get torn out during a game.

Plus all of the sweat from physical activity is really bad for it.

i wouldnt if i were you....
ive got mine done and it hurt like hell for bout 2 hours then was unbelievably tender for 24 hours then later on it just hurt and was tender. it isnt that noticable solong as you dont catch it but if you do, and im guessing you will then that really hurts for the first week or so.
id wait till your not going to play for 2 weeks if not longer, but that me, i have a very low pain threshold, so thats prob why it hurt so much, depends how tough you are
also you obv dont want to get it dirty as it can get infected so if you do have it done have it properly covered up so nothing can get to it

hope this has helped and not put you off... but it is worthit, i still love it :)

Youre crazy if you do, because god forbid it gets infected then youre screwed.
