I finished my financial aid application, now what? |
Do I need to print out a summary of my app and give a copy to the school I am going to attend? Should I take mine and my dad's tax forms with me? What do I do? Ahhh I'm so confused. Help! Please? Just take a copy of the requested forms up to the financial aid office. They will take them from you and make a copy. I would say mail them, but I have done that so many times and they claim they never get it. Don't stress - it is very common practice for them to do this.... Try fileing it They'll let you know within 48hours if you're denied. I know because I just got m y notification that I was denied. Now, just wait on the school. They'll let you know how much you're being awarded. Put it in the mail FAFSA will send over this information to your school choices.. they will review it and contact you for your information like your and your fathers taxes, etc.. Don't worry, once you have submitted your application it automatically sends it to the schools of your choice. Once each individual school receives the application they will send you a letter stating how much money they are willing to give you to go to school. And even though your application was selected for verification if they want any documentation they will contact you. Just make sure you end up selecting the school that is right for you, but try not to base it all on the money you will be receiving. It might be a good idea that once you have selected your school and accepted their offer to check that school's financial aid website, log in, and view their offer. If the school that you listed on your fafsa needs any additional information they will contact you probably with a letter within the next week. If they have all of the information that they need they will contact you with a letter letting you know how much and what kind of aid you qualify for within the next week. I would not worry about going to the school until you receive something from them. If you wait a week and do not hear anything, then I would call and ask about the status of your application. Make sure that you do have a current enrollment application on file with the school that you wish to attend or they will not know who to contact when the government sends them your fafsa information. If you ever have any questions you should be able to call the admissions office at your school. Don't worry! As confusing as first time enrollment can sometimes be, you will be a pro by next semester! Congradulations! http://www.suzeorman.com/igsbase/igstemp... |
