I need help with my FAFSA finanical aid?

OK so i got my entire fafsa done and a few weeks ago i received my award letter that says i have to pay over 3 grand a year. It also said that I wasnt eligible for the Federal Pell Grant. My mom and step dad recently got a divorce and she said that I needed to make an adjustment on my finanical aid since that is not the actual money that she makes anymore. So I called my financial advisor and she said that she checked online and found out that only my mothers information was submitted, not my fathers. I dont know why my real dads information wasnt on there. But she told me to check my student aid report, but I honestly have no clue what I'm checking for at all. Am I supposed to re-file for FAFSA? Wouldn't adding my real dads income to the paper show that my parents can pay for more? Can someone pleaaase help me with this.

i would defintely try to print it out online. My first year of college i didn't have a clue on how to fill out the paper work. I put in money amounts in sections that i was suppose to leave blank. My first semester I ended up paying for everything because according to my FASFA I was getting all types of scholarships and grants. I would recheck to see if you correctly filled out the information. if you would feel better take it to the financial aid office and ask questions. If that dosen't help call the dept of education. You do not file another FAFSA. If your parents recently got divorced, since the government bases awards/grants on earnings from the previous year ('07 - '08 year will be based on earnings from 2006). If you filed a FAFSA online you can pull up your student aid report, you should have had the option to print it out once you filed. If you did not do it online, one should have been given to you or it will be on file somewhere. Hope this helps .....
