FINANCIAL HELP! Please help me!?

Well, just a little background so you can help me.

I'm a single mother living with my mentally ill daughter. She's 18 but not able to hold a job. We are severely struggling financially. I work full time but can't get another job because of my daughter's frequent doctors, therapists, and psychiatrists visits. Also need to be with her at night. Lots of bad luck have come our way lately. We've been fighting foreclosure, our water heater needed to be replaced, our garage door broke, and not to mention that each of my daughter's medications cost $40.00 a month each if not more. I don't even know how we will be able to afford Christmas this year.

Are there any grants or public aids that I may qualify for? Food stamps even? Anything to help if even a little.

Where can I go for this information?

Is there a website with a list of grants/public aid and their qualifications?

I NEED A WEBSITE LISTING FINANCIAL HELP AND HOW TO GET IT. Please help me. Thanks in advance.

There are several things you can or she can qualify for: Medicaid, if she is determined disabled she can collect social sec benefits and Medicare, she could qualify for food stamps and you might be able to. Go to your states government site and there should be sites for the different counties in your state and you can apply there. If I knew what counth and state you lived in I would look it up and get it for you.

contact your local office of DSHS, your daughter should qualify for a great many assistance programs.

if you live in nj you shouold e mail me i work for a company called primerica if you dont live in nj go to pirmerica.com

Go to www.ssa.org

You need to apply for social security disability now. You both can get monthly income if approved. Plus medical coverage for your daughter and meds.

Partnership for prescriptions will also aid in maying her medication. Just type in prescription medication assistance, and go from there. Talk to the doctors, they can point you in the right direction. ALSO, a lot of medication manufacturers like Pfizer will assist you in free medicine if you qualify.

Also, file for food stamps, temporary cash assistance. You will qualify.Call the city/toen you live in and ask where to go for financial aid with bills. Call the United Way. Call the Salvation Army. If you go to church, talk to your minister. Even if you don't go to the churches, they can point you in the right directin, help. Ask where the local food pantry is......the churches will help you. Money, pay bills, food, medication.

Rather than a website, check your local phone book. Most communities have some form of an "action organization" that helps people in need.

Just call a couple of the local charities or even churches.

Call City Hall and ask for suggestions.

Call your electric company, gas company, etc, to see what help they offer.

Call the Salvation Army and similar organizations in your city.

Ask your daughter's doctor how you can get help.

So sorry to hear about your situation. ( i'll keep you and your daughter in my prayers...) i'm a full time college student and my live with my mom, i still need to pay for my gas, phone bill, and internet, and clothes.... but i did'nt want to get a job so that i could finish college faster and with better grades.... then that's when i found out about Herbalife... its a great health company..you can work when ever you can and you get instant cash... if you are interested.. email me at kangel415@aol.com God Bless you, and try to go to a church and get close to the lord, and you will see how much of a difference that will make.

The first website is for food stamps. The second website has a list of websites that might be of help to you. Also, you might want to check into getting help with small maintenance from local churches and larger maintenance from a local Habitat for Humanity affiliate that you can find at www.habitat.org.

Check with the social security office. Mental illness is a frequent basis for awarding Social Security disability benefits
http://www.ssa.gov/d&s1.htm

Check on this website for united way in your area:
http://www.unitedway.org/myuw/
They have many agencies that may be able to help.

These agencies know what may be available in your area.
Even get some help with taking her to the doctor appts and someone to stay with your daughter so you can have some time off. I know it must be overwhelming at times.

The best advise I can give financially is to go to the library and get any book they have written by Dave Ramsey.
At least the library is free.
I believe his approach to finances is the best I've found.

I would think the doctors, therapists and psychiatrists offices should be able to give info for help as well. Ask them who you can contact for assistance.

I hope some of this has helped.
