Desperate for help! Please help me!? |
Well, just a little background so you can help me. I'm not sure where you are or what kind of mental illness your daughter has, but if her psychiatrist has mentioned that she is unable to work, she should qualify for SSI benefits, which will be very beneficial to your household. You may have to get an attorney at first to get these started, but they will work pro bono (they won't charge you anything, just a portion of what they actually get from the government). Also, you should call your local dept. of human services to see if you qualify for any government assistance with food stamps, etc. They actually have a chart to tell you - for example with how much money the household brings in, # of family members, etc. You could try checking with your local health and human services. I think the website is HHS.gov. Contact the Social Security office nearest you. If she is disabled she will qualify for disability payments for the rest of her life. I think you can apply for social security benefits. I know there is some kind of assistance that you can get if you are mentally ill... thats all I know hun, sorry, I know that wasnt much help. Your daughter is probably eligible for disability. Contact your local social services agency to find out where to apply. PPA.. Partnership for prescription assistance will help with the meds. Social Service will laugh at you because you work. Your daughter will be eligible for Disablity I would go through social security. Be warned it takes forever! Alot of places have Habitat for Humanity Outlet Home stores where you can buy stuff for your home at a reduced cost. I know there is one in Denver! couldnt u go 2 the job centre and get somethin like carers allowance, cuz really ur like, caring for her all the time.. Go to your blue pages in your telephone book, and start calling around. You will find the help you need there. Also, you can go to your local welfare office... and they have a list there of services in your area. Good luck. Go to a person in the Division of Family Services and find out about getting those requests filled. It will help tremendously. I have people taking care of my needs too. |
