Where should I move to, Ireland or Canada?

I'm currently a junior at Virginia Tech, studying international studies and is beginning to look into possible areas to live. I'm ready for a new experience and would love to live abroad. A special consideration I must look at while trying to make my decision is my choice to be a vegeterian, which country has more vegeterian options, canada or ireland? I've heard that both places the people are quite friendly and down to earth and that is exactly what I'm looking for. However, I want an area that isn't too cold so that I don't freeze to death. I'm fairly liberal and very accepting so I would want an area that is culturally diverse and accepting, but also a place that considers the whole world, rather than just relying on themselves to do everything. I want a place that is aware of global issues and willing to aid them. So... with the following information, which country do you think is better for me?

I like Canada.
It is close to the US so you can easily visit often, even drive. But it does get cold and you cant escape that. But Ireland gets cold too in the winter and it also gets fog and overcast days.
Vegetarians would do good either place. Canada has so many great restaurants to eat in you will never be bored. And Ireland has pubs with food and they raise lots of lamb (which they readily serve) and veggies that they grow.
Both Canada and Ireland are beautiful. Less controversy in Canada though. You certainly dont want to get involved in the wars they have in Ireland between the religious groups. Canada is pretty laid back but it is quite Expensive but so is Ireland. Canadians pay much more than us on everything.

Visit each place first before making such a big leap. Stay awhile and see how you far as a tourist.

I choose Canada.

I was a vegetarian when I went to Ireland several years ago and didn't have any problems finding great meals wherever I went. If I were choosing between the two I would go with Ireland, it's beautiful (of course the same could be said for Canada) and close to amazing European cities. From what I've read recently, Dublin is becoming much more cosmopolitan and liberal. I went in July and it was in the 50's and 60's, so I'm not sure what it would be like in the winter. Have a great time wherever you go :)

in my book, being canadian, I think canada and ireland are pretty equal. Canada of course is much bigger and way more opportunities because of the larger economy. Ireland, on the other hand, is right next to europe so thats a big plus. All we've got next to us is the states. As far as being a vegetarian is concerned you can't go wrong either place.

Why not move to a canadian city with a lot of Irish people? That way you got both bases covered.

Ireland is gorgeous and has been through an amazing time of new opportunities an economic growth, but is a far more traditional culture than Canada.

Canada has more large cities to choose from. British Columbia (Vancouver, in particlar) is a great place to tune into Canadian relations with the US and Pacific Rim nations.

Both countries have strong ties to the US, and many cultural similarities. Do you have time to ponder something more exotic? These are not the only two English-speaking countries on earth. Check out this Wikipedia article:

And the number 1 is... India! English is the official language, if not the most widely spoken. Definitely vegetarian-friendly, not too cold, and culturally diverse. They are aware of global issues and looking to profit from them.

Belize is also worth a look. Definitely not too cold!

i went to canada and Ireland ,believe canada is better than ireland 100%
canada is beatiful and cleen and its people are very very very kind
