Financial aid and non custodial step parent's income?

I have non custodial step mother with good income and assets. is that information relevant in determining fin aid at private schools? Is she responsible for my undergrad or professional studies?

Who is your custodial parent? If it is your mother, your mother and her spouse will determine your financial aid. If it is your father, your father and his spouse will determine your financial aid. Even if your mom's husband (stepdad) or dad's wife (stepmom) aren't considered your custodial parents, if they are married to the parent who has primary custody, their information will be counted.

Since the same form (FAFSA) determines aid at public and private schools, yes, it will be relevant for your FA there.

Once you have earned a Bachelor's degree, you'll be an independent student and can apply without your parents.
