What kind of aid is out there for single parents??

I just found out yesterday that I am pregnant. The father and I were dating for 4 years and have been friends for about 7 but we're not together now. He kinda has his own life right now. I'm sure he wasn't expecting this, but he's accepted it and that was the thing I was really worried about. I'm not sure if reality's going to hit him and scare the h*ll out of him though and not to expect the worst, but I'm trying to get as much information on any kind of aid for right after the child is born. I don't live near family anymore and all my friends work a lot so I know when the child is an infant, if I'm by myself, I won't be able to work. I dont figure day care takes infants but truthfully, I don't want to go that route that early anyways. I'm saving a great deal of money now but I figure I'll be off of work for a while if the situation does end up going this way. What can I do???

Why don't you get a job and start saving some money. Also, don't forget to let "daddy" pay child support when the time comes. Did he get his "own life" before or after you became pregnant?

Ok!!! Health and Human Services. Contact Them! CCMS is for child care. (Mostly free, you might pay like 10% of the monthly bill) TANF - Temporary Assistance for Needy Families is actually only for Single Mothers who do not receive child support.
Medicaid. Food Stamps. They will help. Welfare to Work will help you find a job and get child care.

I know how you feel because me and my baby's father is going through the same thing. Thankfully my family lives close by. Hard for me to say what you should do, but good luck. Everything will work out.

if you call ur local human services or court house, you will be able to find out just what kinds of aid is available. all aid is based off of how much monthly income you have and how many people u support including ur children.

It depends on where you live, but there is medical aid, welfare, and other programs for women with children. The father should help out too. I would check with your doctor, and then contact the county administrative office where you live to seewhat types of aid they may offer. Good luck to you and your baby.

There is aid available in every state. The name of the agencies vary by state, so look under your state in the phone directory. You should be able to find the agency.

The first thing to do is get the guy to marry you and be responsible.
If he is unwilling, then you need to move back home with your family. Let your parents know that you are pregneant, andask them to help you in the proper raising of your unborn child. A day care at a later time is a bad idea because your child will be raised with another person's beliefs, and can be neglected or worse, molested.
Start with buttering up your father. Tell him how much of a positive male role model he was for you, if this is true. Tell him that you think he could do the same for your child, and go from there. Your family will be the best people to help you raise the child if the bio-father will not be in the picture.
It is really best if the bio-father is your husband, and the child is raised in an intact family.
The truth is that your child will suffer in a single parent household for several reasons. If you begin dating again after the child is born, the child will feel a loss of love and feel that the new guy in your life is more important to you, and the problems will get worse.

-Contact you local county child support agency, they help you with medi-cal, WIC which helps with food for your baby and preggo women, they will help you et up support and establish paternity.

Problem is you don't say what country you are in. If it is Australia ring Centrelink. And yes infants can go in childcare(sadly as young as 6 weeks)

i get tenncare for insurance and families first helps with day care and then WIC helps with formula. you can also apply for many other aids
