Student Aid Questions!!!!?????

I applied at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/
It says: It's Processing
They received it 3/17/08

My questions are:
1. What do I do now?
2. Do I receive money from them?
3. Am I so pose to do something?

I am really confused I have never done anything like this before. I gave them the school of my choice. Yet, I did not give them my classes of choice. I'm really confused at this point and in the email they sent me... they said....:

"Your Correction to your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has been processed and the data will be made available to the school(s) listed on your corrected FAFSA. The financial aid office at your school will contact you if additional information is required.

Your Student Aid Report (SAR), which contains a summary of your FAFSA information, is now available for you online. Review your SAR as soon as possible to see if any additional information or corrections may be needed."

All it says is that it's processing and... all I want to know is what am I so pose to do?

Wait longer?
Call someone. I would just like more information... they really did not explain anything. Any information would be very helpful. I really apperciate it. Thank you. Please do not leave any stupid comments or ask me questions... because I can not reply to your questions!!!!!!!

Don't be so confused. They're processing your application, and it's perfectly normal. I get those message every year.
My version of how FAFSA works.
It is basically a form proving to the government that your family is unable to pay part or all of your college tuition. By determining your EFC (expected family contribution), they are letting you know how much your parents will have to pay. If there is a gap between what your family can pay and how much your school costs, you are eligible to receive financial aid.

Your questions.
1. You just wait. If you are still really confused, it wouldn't hurt to talk to your college's financial aid office (but only if you're accepted). I've found that financial aid people are the most helpful on campus.

2. Sort of. You won't receive any money directly. Once your FAFSA has been processed and the Dept. of Education has determined your "need" (based on EFC), the money will go directly to your school. The money could take several forms: government loans, grants, or work study. Your school might even give you need based scholarships. You will probably never see any of this money first-hand, since it will go through the school's administration directly towards tuition and fees.

3. Nope! You've done the hard part, submitting all of that tedious financial information. Now you just have to wait to receive your financial aid package from your college.

Good luck! I hope you get a lot of aid!

After your FAFSA has processed, it will be sent to the school(s) that you put on the application. After that, they will review it and see what you are eligible for. You should receive a letter from the school. You may have to call the financial aid counselor though and make an appointment where they will review your application and fill out paperwork. Wait at least two weeks to do this to give the information a chance to get into their computer system. Usually, after the semester starts, you have to go to the school and request a deferrment on tuition payment because they do not send the money till about mid semester. After that is taken care of, the money is sent to the school, and the school sends you a refund of the difference.

You don't receive money from them, but from the school(s) you're applying to.

You don't have to give them your classes of choice. School is enough.

If you don't want to wait, contact the admission office(s) of the college(s) you chose. You don't have to go to the school, just email and ask them whether they have received your FAFSA or not. They will answer you when or after they admit you.

1. For now you just wait it will take 4 to 6 weeks for your school to get it, even though FAFSA will notify you way before, but in really it takes college some time to get it.
2. Fafsa is a government form that you fill out, so you don't get money from the fafsa itself but you get money from the government IF YOU ARE eligible and that will be from your college
Well you don't give the classes, just the school. When you filed out your fafsa they probably gave you an EFC or expected family contribution ... that is the ammount that they expect your family to pay for your tuition however you don't have to pay, and they take that EFC and subtract it with the cost of College you are planning to attending and what ever money is left that needs to be paid they try to provide your aid for it.

you don't have to go to the college, just call them and make sure that they have received it. most likely if you are a first time freshmen going to college they won't let you know about your aid until mid april, and the colleges will send you a letter of award that will let you know what aid are you eligible for.

what you did was filled out an application for a pellgrant that you don't have to pay back. It will be sent to the school you chose andtheschool will take out you tuition and your fee for your books and you will get what is left over. This will happen when school begins. the sar sheet will be sent to you and you take it to financial-aid office of your school for any corrections and they also will tell you when and how much you will get from pell grant.

This statement from them:
"Your Student Aid Report (SAR), which contains a summary of your FAFSA information, is now available for you online. Review your SAR as soon as possible to see if any additional information or corrections may be needed."

means that it has been processed and you have been send a SAR (likely via email) if you chose that option but they do send it by mail if you don't enter an email address. It will likely come as an email link that says its from the Dept of Education and to follow the link to view your SAR (student aid report). If you did not get the email check your "junk" folder of your email. It usually winds up getting auto sent there by your spam blocker.

On your SAR will tell you if you qualify for the Pell grant and what you need to do next. Check to make sure all the info is correct and call your schools fin aid office for more info on what to do next.
