Please remove me from Yahoo Answers. I received a note from Answers warning me I reached my Answer limit!?

I am of a mature age and had a strong desire to help some of these young people on "Yahoo Answers" I spent much time and effort in the "spirituality" section and am well professed in this field. I think it's absurbed to moderate a daily limit on anyone who has reputable input and good information or aiding people who feel their lives are worthless or want to end it all. Sorry we disagree but I probably need to take my services elsewhere! I do think what your forum is trying to do , but I do disagree with this rule. Best regards Cajunboy

The system that Yahoo has setup is designed to prevent people from abusing their message boads. Some people would get on and post blatant advertisements, poltical or religous rants, inanne hate messages (like "get a life and stop talking about your dumb dog" in the "dogs" section), and generally be sophmoric and annoying. Sure, people can report these abusers, but how long does it take to yank their accounts and how much drivel can they crank out in the mean time?

Frankly, you must prove that you deserve to be allowed unlimited postings (I think at level 4 or 5), by earning points. You earn points for answering questions. You earn points for voting on undecided questions. You earn 10 points when your answer is chosen as the best answer.

If you give a lot of best answers, you'll reach unlimited levels in no time flat. If you're not rising fast enough to suit you, perhaps others don't agree that you have a whole lot to offer.

Spend a little more time answering concrete questions (as opposed to "opinion" type questions) on subjects that you know well - ones you are likely to get "best answer" on. That's really the key, getting "best answer".

just keep answering and youll move up in level and get to answer more daily, or whine and quit , who cares?

OK, calm down. You're only at level one. You have to obtain more points to move up in level. This will allow you to answer more questions.

All you need is 250 points to reach Level 2 and double the amount of questions you can answer. Each level gives you more to answer. From Level 5 on you can answer unlimited questions.

For now, you can be of help by voting for best answers on unresolved questions. Often voters don't read beyond the first or second answer, and a bad one gets chosen as best. You do get one point per best answer you vote for.

If you are someone trying to help people out, quitting isn't going to help anyone now, is it?

The purpose of the daily limit is to prevent new users from posting a bunch of malicious garbage. If your input is valued, you should rack up enough points from best answers to move up to the next level in no time.

when i got that answer limit warning i was terribly pissed too. But you need at least 250 points to be free of such restrictions.

I know its a horrible idea and doesn't make any sense at all. But thats how yahoo answers is.

I think they do it, to keep spam down. I'm sure you can find another site that will let you spread your knowledge without limits.

At your level which is level 1 you are allowed to answer 20 questions per day or in a 24 hr period.......

you are allowed to ask 5 questions per day

Answer limit doesn't mean it's the end of the world. Each one of us was given a limit to answer a question (per day) based on what level we have. Since you are on level 1, you only have the privilege to answer 20 questions per day. If you reach the limit answer then wait for the next day set of new questions.

Level 1 - 20 answers
Level 2 - 40 answers
Level 3 - 60 answers
Level 4 - 80 answers
Level 5,6,7 - Unlimited

So don't QUIT, have patience and when you reach a higher level, you will be happy to know that you help a lot of people on Y!A.
