Homeless information? |
My mother and have been evicted from our home. my mother has c.o.p.d and is on oxygen machine 24 hrs a day, she is terminally ill. I have had blood clots on and off for two years, which is one reason i am not working at the moment. My mothers income is only 900.00 a month and after this month my son will be moving back to his fathers so my cash aid of 540.00 will discontinue. But im also the only one to be here for my mother to take care of her. We are frantic on where we can move to on such a short notice. Any suggestions? Keep calling every where! There is help for you. You have to find it. Call information, help lines, the city, the county, Her doctor, your doctor, medical organizations, volunteer centers, churches, shelters, your legislators, COPD Association, .... go to the library and ask a librarian to help you find oranizations and phone numbers....... Get in touch with the United Way, they may be able to help you. When you're alone and life is making you lonely I do not know... Honestly... But I hope that you two do find a solution... Please just don't give up on it... south carolina....cheap here Have you checked with local laws to see eviction laws when someone is on medical assistance like that? I would think there woudl be someone legal issues at this point. Contact your local city office, and see what they say. I suggest a nursing home for your mother and that you start looking for employment. It depends on where you're at. You can look for low income housing, or contact social services for your city. You don't have to look for a homeless shelter but there are many organizations that offer semi-permanent housing at little or no cost and help you get back on your feet. If you get a camper and stay at a national park, it would cost you $15 per day, which is $450 a month. Even then, that's tight. I am so sorry to hear that. I am not sure where you are from, but have you tried you're local Department of Scocial Services for the county you are in.. they may be able to help both of you in obtaining housing right away. Also you could try a search for emergency shelters in your area and give them a call see what they could do for you and your mother. Dealing with scocial services / local housing athority may be a pain but they can be of help sometimes so i would try them first, just find the one in the county that you reside in and give them a call. a church, they talk big words on helping people, maybe they can help She may qualify for nursing home care. I think you should look into an old folks home or something like that for your mom. And for you maybe call welfare and they an help you with the programs they have that can help you and start looking for a job. yea call your homless prevention agency in your county or city....let them know whats going on...ask your doctor about going back to work...obviously you need the income...so get him to clear you to work....and you can apply for DVR services in your county or city...every state has one...i work for a DVR agency and what we do is help people with disabilities become employed with accomidations to their disabilities...but it looks like you definately need to get on your grown women and take charge of the situation...good luck and i really do mean it im not sure where you are but im from ky and we have salvation army, goodwill, cares, people helping people....salvation army have shelters and with your mother on oxygen they probably wouldnt let her they would help finding a place. We also have a shelter that if you stay one night they will pay first months rent and security deposits |
