Please answer as soon as possible. What should I do about my FAFSA?

I thought I had to renew my FAFSA for 2008-2009. But when I went to my account on my University's website, it said that my financial aid information was already sent for Spring of 2008. So does that mean I don't have to apply until Fall of this year? I'm thoroughly confused.

Spring semester is covered by the FAFSA that you filed in spring 2007. You will need to complete your FAFSA after you file your taxes in 2008. If you do not, you could lose any PELL Grant money that you are receiving. This needs to be completed every spring for the next school year. Government funding typically runs from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.

If you receive PELL, check with your local unemployment office and inquire about the WIA (Workforce Investment Act) program. This program is for low to mid-income youth & adults that are attending college. You can check you state's website for WIA service providers in your area. In Indiana they are located inside the WorkOne offices in every county.

The way it works is, your 2007-2008 FAFSA will cover you until July 2008. It is still recommended that you renew your FAFSA ASAP, to ensure you will get the max amount of aid for 2008-2009.
