Lets say a hospital put on false information you had aids what steps do you have to take to have that false? |
information removed Info like that is private and priviledged an dif it's on a hospital record and you feel it is untrue, then you ask to take a test. There are false positives as well as false negatives in HIV testing. Bottom line is that it can only be recorded on your records if they ran a test and it showed up positive. If your hospital stay is payed for by medicaid plan the plan can get the results in general for most things. It's a tricky ethical question and the best way to sort it out is to talk to the doctor or person who did your intake or whoever entered the info...but start with the doc. go to another hospital and get it verified. You go to a lawyer, and you win a ton of money because they cannot print false information about you, and they certainly can't spread that false information around. Also its completely wrong, because they are giving you a diagnosis for something you don't have. Let's say a hospital makes public ANY information, true or false, without your express written permission. You go find a hungry lawyer and quit worrying about your financial future. Make sure no one has stolen your medical identity first! There is a sharp increase of stolen identity. Go back to the hospital and speak to administration, request the test be redone and the error corrected. Good Luck! |
