Can illegal immigrants go to college?

I'm helping a friend with a report about illegal immigrants and college. Are they allowed to go to college? Do they go through the application process like everyone else? Could they be turned into the government if they even apply? Can they apply for loans or financial aid? Any info about the whole process would really help.Thank you.

To a degree yes. However, there are professors across the country that report these law breakers and have them removed from school. Personally I turned in 4 last semester and 2 this semester. The school revokes their enrollment and some of us go a step further and report the fraud to law enforcement. I've seen cases where entire families were deported as a result of being reported.
