Tsunami...plzz helpp school newspaper part 2!!!?

The devastating Tsunami that ravaged the coasts of South Asis in December 2004 killed over 280,000 people. In the aftermath of the disaster, suitcase radio transmitters broadcasted emergency health and relief aid information while text messaging technology was a valuable communication tool capable of getting through even when the cell phone signal was too weak to sustain a spoken conversation.

-What was the benefit of radios??

-what was the benefit of text messages? Could everyone use text messaging??

-What factors determine who had access to the technology and who did not???

Well firstly after the Tsunami most of the cell phone networks were out of order and cell phones were completly useless even text messgin did not work .....(when there is no mobile phone tower standing how can anyone text messg )....

The only thing that worked was satallite phones and radios .

the communication Radios actually communicate with the help of satellites .....so Tsunami did not affect it , but very few people are taught to use it (due to bandwidth limitations)...you to become a member of a club , pass a few tests and then you were given a radio with a limited time slot to communicate in ............

Well cellphones were with most people who could afford them ,most of the fishermen had radios(a different type to contact the coast gaurds) but their boats were washed away .....
