Alli, the weight loss aid... has anyone tried it? What were your results? Did it work?

I am looking for any and all information on this product.

I did. It's expensive. It works fine, but the side effects.. are unpleasant. See first comment.

You seriously have to have a pad with you at ALL TIMES. It causes this absolutely disgusting (prepare yourself) anal leakage. If you disobey the amount of fat grams you're allowed to take in at each meal (they set a limit based on your weight), you'll experience those effects. And they are not something you can control, like gas. It's HORRIBLE.

So you really have to obey your fat gram restrictions, so the Alli will work properly. But if you do, it's very successful.

The diet guide it comes with is very thorough, and the online program assists you in logging your calories for each day, as well as keeping track of your exercise. It's like a virtual aid to inform you of how well you're doing.

It's the only FDA-approved product, so that's trustworthy. It prevents 25% of consumed fat from being digested... so if you're eating a lot of fat throughout the day, you're counteracting the effects of the product. So, just like anything else, you need discipline.

Yeah, it does make you lose weight. At fred meyers they have a pamphlet for it that says all of the information about it. It's really useful, it tells you the positives and negatives of it. It's located near the pharmacy part of the store. My mom uses it and she lost a ton of weight, it has a meal planner that comes with it, recipes, and exercise plans. But, it's not that you s*** yourself. You have a discharge out of your anus that you have to be careful of. But, if you want to lose weight bad enough then it is totally worth the discharge.

i saw a tv special about it that said it caused diarrea and wasn't good for you. it pointed out how somewhere in small print it says to have a change of pants "just in case." I don't know anyone who's tried it so i don't know for sure, but if you are trying to lose weight you should eat balanced meals and exercise and drink water to keep hydrated when you exercise.
hope this helps.
