Financial Aid for University of Phoenix.?

So this is my second year at Univeristy of Phoenix. My first year I just completed the FAFSA and received my loan and my pell grant. This year I did the same and then I received an e-mail at 5:30 tonight saying that I needed to give them more information for the pell grant. The e-mail said I had to have the info today and gave me the link and then go to complete verification link and go from there. I do not have a complete verification link so now what I am not going to get my pell grant. Why did they need more info this year and not last year. I am so confused. I am supposed to start my new classes on Monday so what the h is going on.

30% of all fafsas are selected for "verification". This means you have to turn in paperwork (or for UoP I suppose it's not on paper...is it). Okay the term would be...supply additional information to get your fafsa to go through.
It's random... don't worry about it. Just do what they ask and be sure it's correct. If the link they sent you isn't working call them for more help.

Hi there, as close to this answer I can get is that most schools run on a June thru July fiscal year. At the end or June or end of may they are getting all their students F/A re worked for their new fiscal year. They don't run on the normal Jan - Dec calender when it comes to F/A. Remember your dealing with the Govt., and sometimes threes no system to the system that makes sense to us outside the MATRIX but it works for them. You should try talking to someone directly at the college to hand walk through your paper work or even better see if you can go to one of their satellite locations and see a F/A counselor directly.
Good Luck hope this helps and just keep those dates in mind for next June 09.
