Financial aid problem? "unsatisfied requirement"?

I filed for fafsa in march, my application was set for review. My college website stated I have a "unsatisfied requirement." I went to the office picked up and turned in the worksheet in May. But now (June) it still says "unsatisfied requirement".
I haved called their office twice now, and they Claim they are still going through Financial aid for next year. Should i be worried, becuase I am. Could I talk with anyone else about fixing this problem?? My fin aid office sucks, they are NO help, and in fact have given me Wrong info before.

You sound like a lot of students in the office. You have to understand that there are a LOT of students who fill out their applications.

One they're probably trying to deal with campus visits for the freshman orientations and trying to get them settled down with the whole college thing.

Second, it is also summer school. And I know that our school had to manually input all of the fin aid into the system for the students that were attending summer school. So some the advisor are behind in their paperwork, because they had conferences to attend and trying to meet deadlines.

Third of all, they usually do paperwork in the order that they received it. So you might just be at the bottom of the list. It can take up 2-3 weeks to complete paperwork in the fin aid office

But if you are really concerned, stop by the fin aid office and ask to speak to your processor. They should be available through appt or through walk-in. Don't be rude or give off the frustrating vibe, just kindly ask whats going on and they'll be able to help you. And it's still summer, there really isn't no actual deadline with the fafsa application. As long as you have your file complete before school starts you should be OK.

I am sorry to hear you are not getting a lot of help from your financial aid office. It does sound as if they have what they need, but need to finish reviewing your file possibly. This is the busiest time for aid offices because they are closing out the year, doing summer sessions, summer work-study, all while attempting to setup aid packages for next year.

Your best bet is to keep calling them, or if you live in the vicinity plan on either making an appt to speak with your FA counselor or someone in the office that can help you.

Good luck!
