Medicaid?????

i applied for medicaid at a hospital on may 18 but i didnt have all the information they needed so they gave me a paper saying what i need to bring back which was just a letter of support . the deadline to bring it back was may 28 it is june 10 that i have brought it back and they aid that i have to wait for a letter of denial and then bring that letter along with the missing information...
heres the thing ...i made an appointment to get a physical done on june 3, went to my appointment and told them my medicaid is still pending...given the circumstances will medicaid compensate for the bill even though i am going to be denied?they told me at the office the day i went that medicaid goes back 3 months from the date i first applied for it...im confused on this and dont know what is gonna happen if i wil have to be responsible for the bill or medicaid will cover it bc of the 3 month thing? help me out please...i went to the website and it dont say anything and im confused reading all that

If your first application is denied or closed (which it appears it will be), no worries-when you bring in the denial and the support letter you will have reopened your application and you will get retro-active coverage back 3 months. Make sure you let the worker know you need retroactive coverage.

Well, medicaid is run on a state by state basis. But from what you described above - that they'll go back up to three months, after they accept the application back to the date you originally applied, . . .they will pay it. IF you get yourself approved before Sept 3rd.

You can't let this paperwork drag out like you did.

It doesn't sound like you applied for Medicaid, it sounds like you applied for Charity Care. Medicaid is provided by the State, not your local hospital. You would have had to go to your county Social Services for the medicaid. You may want to check into what you applied for.

you may have to pay your bill, but when you recieve your medicaid that bill will be covered and you should get a refund of what you paid.
