Can a reckless endangerment misdemeanor be pled down? |
I am a college student with no criminal background at all. I am 20 years old and live in the state of NY. I was involved in an incident last June in which I gave another college student alcohol and the cops came to my house. Last week, I got pulled over by the police for an unrelated driving offense and was told there is a warrant out for my arrest. I was never notified, contacted, or asked to come in for questioning. I know the police dept does have my contact info because they contacted me about questioning with the initial incident. The charge aganist me is a class a misdeameanor for reckless endangerment. The DA is saying that when I gave alcohol to another person who was under the age of 21 I endangered them. Is there any chance my lawyer will be able to get this pled to a desk appearance ticket or a fine? I have a legal aid attorney. The best person to ask this question to is your legal aid.....but truthfully most anything can be plead down. Yeah sometimes they never inform you of a warrant for your arrest. They won't even tell you if you call to find out, they just wait till you get pulled over or something else. And as far as it getting dropped to a lower offense, anythings possible, if you have a good lawyer and a lot of money. You'll just have to ask your Attorney like the other guy said. |
