Is there any way to help relief efforts within Iraq?

I am a college student from a well respected University, good resume, work experience etc. I would love to be able to help reconstruction/relief efforts within Iraq itself. I do not speak Arabic, but with 8 months left to graduate I could, perhaps, learn as much as possible prior to providing help upon arrival.
As a U.S. citizen, I have had trouble finding information on how, if possible, I could help by providing relief/reconstruction aid. I would also prefer to be in the field, perhaps even Afghanistan.
I am not interested in being paid well, if at all, but living expenses etc. would ideally be covered. Other info: 23 yr old male with a degree in Political Science and International Relations.

First of all, the above comment is completly wrong, even one man can make a difference in helping to re build a war torn country.. Everything helps, there is real hardship in Iraq, although reconstruction of buildings and infrastructure is taken care of by trained proffesionals, usually from the UK and Europe and not from the USA, but there is plenty of other positions available such as Health, schooling etc.

Lots of organizations accept Volunteers, depending on your skills. Check out Network for Good, they have lists of ways to help and volunteer and compile many organizations to browse through depending on your preferences.

Your idea is wonderful, but you have to be well trained and you have to learn every thing that an army man does, you have to learn how to shot , and protect your self in a country such as Iraq please consider that it is not very wise to go in a country were the majority hate English and American people. I will tell you that in Iraq there will never will be any peace, and a lot of army men and marines have already been killed over there, you want to be killed are you stupid man,Iraq is not how CNN or your national newspaper say it is, it is totally different than the picture is given of the scene, I just pray that all American troops leave that damn place and return home

situation in Iraq is beyond helping. there is nothing a single person like u and me can do to help a whole nation torn down by war.
