So my fafsa has been successfully filed, and my EFC is 0...?

and fafsa said that my school may request certain financial documents. I understand that they just want to verify information and whatnot. I have my mother's W-2 (she didn't file her taxes) and my tax report. My mother and stepdad split up last fall but aren't divorced, but I still just put my mom's info down anyway because my stepdad wouldn't give me any of his information.
SOO.... I've been trying to get ahold of my financial aid office and I keep getting put on hold for ridiculous periods of time when all I want to know is what they need from me. Does anybody know if what I have (my mom's w-2 and my tax report) is enough? Or will they request other paper work?

Your application may have been chosen for a process called verification. Basically, you'll need to submit a signed copy of your parents 2007 tax return(in the case your mother's w-2 form), a signed copy of your 2007 tax return, and a Dependent verification worksheet. These are the general forms, but there may be others exclusive to your school, but I doubt it. The Fin Aid office will normally send you a letter in the mail, outlining what they need for you to submit. If u can, u may want to check your financial aid status on your school's website if you can. This is a great help for me because I HATE not being able to get answers to my questions when I call in or being put on hold for a lifetime and a half...HTH
