Why do people encourage teen pregnancy here?

Seriously... you have so many kids having babies on here. Teen Pregnancy Rose by 3% in 2005-2006. That is a lot!

then you have people asking what is the benefit of teen pregnancy and people who saying there is none and telling them to stop making babies as teenagers are getting thumbs downed

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

I mean seriously... why are people encouraging kids to have kids.

This should not be tolerated and I would like to know who I can I write to to address this horrible epidemic.

I will not tolerate my kids having babies at that age...

Fear needs to be instilled back into our kids, now all they have to do is have a baby and automatically get handed public aid and free college.. Take all the help away and let suffer for their mistakes.... something needs to be done...

Call me crazy, but I will slip my daughter birth control every morning before she goes to school and she will submit to monthly STD checks if she wants any sort of freedom. I refuse to let my daughter get pregnant before she is able to support herself.

I will not help her in the even of an unwanted pregnancy. I will not feel bad for her.

I will pay for the abortion, that's as much help as she will get from me.

Teen pregnancy is just the ticket you need if you want to live off the Government in benefits.

i'm 20 and i have no intention of having kids anytime soon, if at all.. babies are a huge responsibility and i dont think kids these days realize that..

i agree with you.. kids think that having babies is like having a doll.. it's glorified.. and in the end its often the baby the suffers..

and it takes away the mother's potential.. meaning she could have gone to college, experienced more life, followed a few dreams.. but no.. now she has to stay and take care of her child.. because when you have a baby it's what they need and want that's important..

it's just not fair all around..

because,it's not their kid or their thinking...it's not their kid asking a question on sex or parenting.we have to admit my era 80's really screwed up with these kids that we have now days.
the parents wanna be buddies & party instand of role models.
i so agree with allot of bad advice on here.

The other day i asked ...http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

No one is encouraging teens to get pregnant.

Public schools need to start addressing the fact of birth control instead of ignoring it and having abstinence-only sex education. Abstinence is not the only way, and that's a terrible message. Honestly, who will listen.

I don't think people encourage teens to get pregnant. I think they encourage them if they are already pregnant. I think they try to help them.

"dont have sex, you will get pregnant and die"

i dont think they are encourageing teens to get pregnant its more to have sex which then leads to pregnant teens!

I agree. Have sex if you want, but live with your choices.

im 15 and i dont even think of that. some kids are just plain stupid

If we let the teens suffer, the children will also proabley suffer as well, which should NOT happen as it is not their fault. Children shouldn't ever be punished for their parents mistakes and we should ALWAYS, not as a country but as HUMAN BEINGS help children in need, regardless of the circumstances.

Besides that though, I agree with you. It is sad. If your kids to have kids at that age, there really isn't much you can do. Sure you can kick them out, and disown them and whatnot but that REALLY won't help anything. They need your support more than anything else. Especially if they are upset about it.

More than half of the kids I went to middle school with have children now. This is not a lie, a friend and I looked in an old yearbook, dotted them off, and yep. I'm just 20 years old and am one of the last of my friends to have a child(Hasn't happened yet). But yes, I know girls as young as 15 with kids. One of them was with a 40 year old. Messed up isn't it? Ahh, welcome to suburbian life. I wonder what the city is like, geez.

Just a question, do you have already have kids?

"Stupid is as stupid does." --Forrest Guuuump.

I worked with a woman who counseled teens,,,she asked the girls, in the girls-only sessions, some of whom were as young as 12, if they were having sex...so many said 'yes.' Some were pregnant. She then asked "Have you ever said 'no' to a boy?" Not ONE of the girls said that they had ever turned down a boy down...they wouldn't be popular, was the most common answer. "Did you ever ask then to use a condom?" "No." "Do YOU use birth control?" "No." Too expensive/too embarrassing to buy/didn't know what to ask for/no access, etc. "Would you ever consider masturbating (for yourself) rather than 'scratching your itch' through penile intercourse?" "No." Too embarrassing/makes me cry to think about it/it's a sin, etc.

Face it: preventing conception has, by default and custom, fallen to the woman. BOTH the girls AND the boys need to know what to do, what not to do, etc. or we ALL pay.
