Is it too late to apply for college??

I graduated in 2006 and thought that since I had a baby right after I graduated that I couldn't go to school. Big mistake, I know. 2 years later, I want to go back. I want to go back this fall, but I already missed all the FAFSA deadlines and stuff like that (Apparently it was March 1). I REALLY want to go back this fall, but I don't know what to do. The application says I can't get financial aid after March 1, and I know I can get a Pell Grant & some other aid if it was before March 1.

I also want to know if there is a way for me to find out my ACT score without paying the $16 fee plus the $9 fee for just getting it. I also need my high school to fax my transcript to the school I'm going to, which is a community college.

Any information on this is greatly appreciated.

If you are going to a community college, you will not need your ACT scores. You can usually opt to take a "College Placement Test" instead and it won't cost you anything and most of the time you don't even need an appointment.

Yes, you will need your high school transript. A fax is a start, but the college will want an offical copy before you can get finanical aid. Call your high school and have them send one to the college.

The deadline for fafsa isn't unil June 30th, 2009. Yes, 2009!! So you are not too late. You have likely missed a state or a school's priority deadline and thus won't get any aid from that source.. but you can still get federal aid if you qualify for the Pell and anyone can get a Stafford loan.

Do your fafsa NOW... there is nothing worse than starting college without money to pay for books and such. so keep on top of it and visit the schools fin aid office first thing tomorrow. They will give you more paperwork to complete besides the fafsa.

Many schools have rolling admissions, and you can apply up until the school year starts and possibly after. You don't need to declare a major, and can work on getting your general electives done. Next spring or fall you can transfer to a school that you are more interested in attending.

its never too late! there are people who go to college while in their fifties! you may not be able to start in the fall semester, that is just dependant on the rules of each school. i dont know of any other way to get those ACT scores, so i think you should probably just go for it and buy them.

good luck!

It is never to late to learn
