Can i go back to community college? if...............

Ok, so here's my situation. First of all, i feel stupid for flunking out. I know i'm not dumb. After graduating from High school, my mom forced me to go to college (community college) i was just, so... lazy ::ashamed:: That i ended up not going to class. Anyway, i flunked out.. Basically, didn't go to class. The Problem is that.. i still got my financial aid checks (two) and since i was in the process of moving out from my mom's house. I used that money to pay my rent and bills. Now, like.. two yrs later. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want and need to go back to school. I finally have a job that lets me go to school in the mornings. But, i feel like the whole financial aid situation is gonna affect me. Will it? Will they give me back mY financial aid? will i OWE THEM money since i flunked out so early in the semester. Well, i didn't really go to class. Please helP with some info.

Just go talk to the counselor at school. Sometimes it's way worse worrying about something than finding out the truth. If you have to end up paying it back, they will arrange a manageable payment plan for you. Stop stressing and go talk to someone today. The new semester starts next week.

Best of Luck!

Usually when you get financial aid and you don't go you owe them all the money back. This is how it is at my college, the teachers turn in the attendance and if you are a financial aid student and have missed so much of the first few weeks, you owe them. I'm surprised they didn't come after you for that money. Was it a Pell Grant?

You didn't break the law or anything. Just reapply and do whatever is needed to re-enroll (placement tests, obtaining transcripts, etc). If you got a loan, you owe the money back. If you got a grant, that money does not need to be paid back either in full or at all. You may not qualify for more aid though. At some point the records will catch up with one another.

you can go back to college. the only problem is that financial aid will be on your back for a long time to see if you are in class or not!!! yet its good to know that you want to go back to school!!!
