FAFSA contribution?

It's okay if you dont want to share all the information, but i'm just curious to know other people's FAFSA contribution. Could you please tell me the college you're going to, your family income,
any mortgages, and how much aid you received. Thanks!

I haven't applied yet but my family makes about 70k, we have mortgages and have some debt and im thinking about going to a private university

Hi Richard, I've been helping people apply for fin aid for 9 years and here are some insights you might consider.

Your EFC number doesn't change from school to school. So if you choose to go to a private it will be the same as if you go to a community college.

The EFC is also NOT the amount you will pay for your school. It is just a code used to determine what kinds and how much fin aid you'll get.

Debt (such as mortgages) are not factored in when doing the fafsa. But anyone can qualify for aid in the form of student loans.

If you are starting school in the fall, you are very late. Applying for financial aid is a process that takes up to 8 weeks to complete, if you are going to attend a private school you need to contact the school and make sure your money will be ready and if you will have to pay your tuition up front since you missed the priority deadlines.

I'm receiving about $12,500 from the fed's total. I reported that my parents earned about $30,000 a year, with no valuable assets, etc. I'm attending Arizona State University and tuition for 14 credit hours both fall and spring semesters costs me about $8,000 total. Hope that helps!!!

My mum makes maybe 12k a year now but it was more like 4k when I applied (she recently got a job as a CNA). My dad's deceased.
I'm going to CU Boulder, about 20k a year for me.
My EFC was 0 but I only got about 16k in aid.
We have 1 mortgage, I don't know anything about debt.
