Denied financial aid? |
Ok so the university I'm going to is going to deny me financial aid because one of the classes I enrolled in for the summer I ended up dropping. So I was wondering if I transferred to another school would they also deny me financial aid because of this? Any information would help, thanx! Yes, they would. I recommend writting a letter of appeal to which ever college you are going to. Just explain why you dropped the class, what you are doing differently now, and how you will be succesful in future classes. hmm...i would be careful what you drop for classes...if you drop classes with financial aid, you could possibly even lose your financial aid if they see a lot of dropped classes...in order to stay on good terms with financial aid, you need to stay within the classes for your major and make sure you pass them. most schools require at least a 2.0 GPA, and at least a C average in each class...therefore, if you do drop it due to a low grade or possibly failing the class, they can take financial aid away because it is seen as you not taking your education seriously. I work at the Financial Aid Office at my college and if students are on Pell money, whatever number of hours they are locked in at, they must finish, or they will go on Financial Aid Probation for the next semester. If they drop a class again during the time they are on probation, they will go on suspension and not be eligible for aid the following semester. I don't believe so, r u sure your university is going to drop you, schools usually give you a number of times to drop classes before denying you financial aid, also talk with them they might put you on financial aid probation and if you go the next semester without dropping any classes your good. If they do deny you and you transfer, you might not be able to get your transcript... |
