What do you think the chances are of a person dying of pneumonia without an immune system problem/ Bernie Mac?

I asked a doctor and she said it is very rare. She said most die of complications of pneumonia at such a young age and they have AIDS or some other immune system problems that can not fight the pneumonia. So, this information does make me wonder about Obama. I am sure we will never know the whole truth.

I had bacterial pneumonia when I was 14. I almost died from it. Had I not gone to the doctor a second time after he diagnosed me with "just a cold", I would have smothered to death from all the bacteria in my lungs. Luckly I went back and was immediately taken to the hospital and hooked up to an IV with anitbiotics in it. So it is possible, but the doctor found it very strange because it usually only happens to people with immune deficiencies.

But I agree that some kind of autopsy and chemical screen should be done on the body to rule out homicide due to the unusual circumstances around the death.

Can you explain your connection with bernie mac's death and obama? I don't understand it. Bernie Mac had suffered with sarcoidosis which can result in clumping of the lungs and other organs. Not many die from it, but I'm sure the pneumonia did not help it at all. God rest his soul, Bernie Mac was a great comedian and will be missed.

It happens more than you would think. My grandmother died of pneumonia, I was hospitalized with it twice and nearly died. Niether of us have any health issues, sometimes you will not even have a noticable fever until it is already very severe. It is kind of scary. He had a lung problem sarcosomething for years before he got pneumonia.

Bernie has been ill with respiratory problems off an on for a few years. His health had been an issue that effected production schedules of his TV show and some movies. I feel awful because I feared he might pass away for a few months now, and when I saw the news this morning, I gasped.

He had an ongoing disease in his lungs which had been in remission until now. I have no idea how it was caused but I think we all catch your meaning.

Pneumonia vaccinations are routinely given to all people over 50 if you have a good doctor or HMO. they are good for 10 years

Yeah...especially when you're that rich and can afford the best specialists in the best hospital. Sounded fishy to me right away. Maybe Bernie died of the same "pneumonia" that Freddy Mercury died of.
