I'm currently a senior in highschool. I would like to get information on scholarships and financial aid.

I've been told that since my Father makes too much money I wouldn't be able to qualify for it. I really want to have a good education, without the burden of student loans. What should I do?

I didn't go to an ivy league school even though I was accepted because I didn't want to burden my parents. $50k a year is ridiculous. Instead I went to a state school on full scholarship and for the most part, I'm really fine with it. Good teachers and colleagues can be found anywhere really.

You can also pursue merit scholarships such as the national Byrd scholarship if you are a good student. Find a way to make sure your counselor nominates you.

Colleges look for a more well-rounded student these days but getting a high SAT score along with a decent GPA is still the key to getting scholarship money. Getting over a 1500/1600 will get you presidential scholarships (highest $$$) at great schools such as NYU.

I hope I've helped a bit. Good luck.

Hey, I found out there are some good free scholarships that you can apply for at http://www.scholarship-listings.com - it doesn't matter how much your father makes since these are not need-related.

Anyone regardless of age, what you are studying, or what school you go to can qualify. They range from $10k to $50k. I think it's worth checking out!

I applied for all of them yesterday, and I'm hoping I get one! (:
