Illegal immigrant trying to go to college?

I came to this country with my parents when I was 10 years old. I just graduated high school and I was wondering if I could apply for a community college in the county. I would pay for full tuition and I wouldn't apply for financial aid or anything like that. Is it possible? Would they ask a lot of questions? PLEASE no racist comments. All I want is a little info. Thanks in advance

You guys really don't know what it's like... I would LOVE to get legal and pay taxes just like everyone else.

Anyways, I'm still 17 years old. Does that help me in any way if I do try to straighten things up?

You are illegal. Adios. But before you leave, get someone in the US to sponsor you, get an admission office to advise you of the paperwork necessary to become a foreign student in the US and to give you some sort of binding or even non-binding commitment, get your references in line, get relatives in your native country to participate in the application process, and most importantly talk to an immigration attorney about additional steps you must take. It's worth the $500 or so. Then scram and after a few months ---- bienvenidos estudiante.

Because you are here illegally, you are eligible to attend any community college in any state in our country for the same lower tuition fee.
If any of us American citizens wanted to attend a college outside of the state we live in it would cost us a lot higher tuition.
Does this sound fair to you?

Ok, so go back to your country and apply to be legal. If they find out, with the ways things are going they will deport you. Better you leave by your own choice and time rather than get kicked out suddenly.

I just hope you are not taking the seat at school of someone that has been here legally, whose parents have been paying taxes their whole life so they could have a chance at an education.

I'm not raciest but thats a stupid idea they will mostly find out that you are illegal and i bet in a couple years our taxes will just be paying for health care for another illegal immigrant. It's great you want to go to colloge and all but if your illegal i dont think they'll except you or they'll send you back to wherever you came from.

If u r illegal than th first part of ur education should b how to obtain legal status. So u were brought here n it wasn't ur fault, that may b true. But u r old enough now to realize how precarious ur situation is n u should act accordingly. This is what my xperience teaches me; cheat, lie, beg, borrow, or steal, but get ur degree, nothin is more important to ur future success. However, it is not racist for me as an American to try to deport illegals, it is my civic duty.

U r 17 join th Army, they will help u bcome a citizens, they will help pay for ur education. Yes there r risks, u could die. This is th second part of ur education, Freedom is not free!!! Many of our young have died to make our country what it is. If u bcome a veteran u can count on me to support ur quest.

My husband had allot of problems with this.
He was given a # to use instead of ssc#.
Alot of people do it and the people at some schools know about it.
Or just use what you have.lol

I know that in california there is a program for that it helps pay college for children of migrant farm workers.

It's possible but pointless. You will never be able to use your degree here. Why don't you see what you can do to change your legal status before you turn 18,if you stay after that,it will be held against you.

yes they will ask you for proof of legal residency or citizenship. You should be trying to get legal.

of course you can go to college I would recommend that you go to the school and talk to someone that works there...you do not need to be a citizen to attend college...trust me don't listen to all the ignorant people here...what do they know they are just plain ignorant go to the school and talk to a admissions staff...

so in a weird way your on your own and so are they
i believe for people like you who came hear at 10 and went to school you automatically are eligible for Greencard at the age of 18 your parents may be a little different

Mostly, community colleges will ask for it, but maybe you should petition to the government about it. They can麓t deport you because you lived here since you were a child.
