Student loan---i am a GC holder and 24, parents live in Foreign country.?

How do i file fasfa on my parents imcome? i mean, i can convert money, but i have no idea how to look at my dads income info,i have it and its in my language, but i think how they file it, is different from US tax. This is so complicated, giving me headache. I called Fasfa 800 number, but they just told me to convert the money into US dollar, Its not helping me at all......because, i convered dads AGI into US dollar, put his income, and there was a error...said seems like that he pay too much tax for his AGI....i have no idea how this calculating tax system works..PLZ somebody help me i have looked up and called way too much and i can not find out anything, i should be getting finanial aid, i want to start school in Nov, Thank you for reading this.

Thank you, Found-1.....i have my dads tax info i dont even know how to begin to ask you, ok.....this paper just says the amount how much he actually makes in a year, and how much was taken out(like his tax ) from it , and how much he actually got paid after that was taken out. and just says how much was the insurance payment, thats it!!!! it doesnt say anything complicated but on fasfa they ask me bunch of questions.....i dont think i have that many answers, my dads tax info is just little piece of paper!! i do not know how am i supposed to do it....

Look on the foreign tax form and see if it says anywhere how much his tax liability was. (This will be calculated based on his income) it is also NOT the amount his company withheld from his payment.

EDIT: Every country in the world collects taxes from its people. You need to figure out how this country does it. I'm sure they file some sort of a tax return or register somewhere so the government knows they are getting every little bit of money they are entitled to. The form he gets from his employer won't likely be all you need. (although if you are in Japan, this may the case)

You need to DRILL your parents and find out how this country collects money and determines who pays how much. You will need the forms your parents fill out to confirm this. Also in the USA what is "withheld" from income isn't the same as the taxes they pay. Who pays for the roads, police, medical care or retirement for the poor?

Follow the money.. hopefully you'll find the right info. If I know what country you are in, I might be able to help more.
